Important — museum choice: This tour includes either the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square or the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) adjacent to the Giza Plateau — check your specific listing to confirm which is included. The GEM is the newer and more impressive facility, housing the complete Tutankhamun collection in a purpose-built setting. Both are excellent; the GEM is worth prioritising if available on your chosen date.

How the Tour Works

Hotel pickup and transfer to Hurghada Airport (4:00–5:30 AM): As with all Hurghada-to-Cairo day trips, the day begins early. A shared transfer vehicle collects participants from multiple hotels along the Hurghada strip. Pickup time depends on your hotel’s location — confirm your specific time when booking.

Flight to Cairo (approximately 45 minutes): A domestic flight from Hurghada Airport to Cairo Airport. Return flights are included in the tour price on most versions of this itinerary.

Giza Plateau (approximately 2–2.5 hours): The guide leads the small group through the Giza complex — the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Great Sphinx and its adjacent Valley Temple, and the panoramic desert viewpoint where all three pyramids align. With a small group, the guide can adapt the pace more readily than with a large coach format, and there is more opportunity for individual questions and photography stops.

Lunch: A sit-down lunch at a local restaurant between the plateau and the museum. Typically Egyptian cuisine — bread, dips, grilled meats, salads. Vegetarian options are usually available on request.

Egyptian Museum or Grand Egyptian Museum (approximately 1.5–2 hours): The tour continues to the museum. The guide covers the highlights: the Tutankhamun collection, the Royal Mummies Hall, and the Great Atrium (in the GEM) or the historic ground-floor galleries (in the Egyptian Museum). Allow a minimum of 1.5 hours for a meaningful visit.

Return flight to Hurghada and hotel drop-off: An afternoon or early evening return flight, followed by hotel transfers in Hurghada. Expected arrival back at your hotel: 8:00–10:00 PM.
